Bio: Dj Relentless a.k.a. Jade Elektra
Jade Elektra….Female Impersonator, DJ, Film & Television Actress, Philanthropist, HIV Activist, Recording Artist, Director and Producer. Originally born in Tampa, Florida Jade’s original performer name was “Ebony”. She moved to New York City in 1992 to pursue her dreams of acting and recording. From television shows like “The Richard Bey Show”, “Maury Povich” and “NY Undercover” eventually Jade found herself on the big screen in films like “Too Wong Foo…Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar”, “Jane Doe”, “Party Girl” and “Stonewall”. In 1997 she landed her first record deal and released “Why Are You Gaggin’?” (a bitch track that became part of the Ballroom Scene as seen in Jenny Livingston’s documentary “Paris Is Burning”). From underground club hits like “Bitch You Look Fierce” to “How Do I Look?”, Jade would eventually move on to live cabaret gigs where she performed Jazz Classics. In 2015 she covered Carl
Bean’s Gay Anthem, “I Was Born This Way”, a protest song about the N-word called “Scared Of Evolution” and a return to her Bitch Track roots with the release of the song and video for “Karma”. She moved to Toronto at the end of 2009 to marry her husband John Allan. Together they produce monthly events and fundraisers for the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation (POZ-TO and Daddy Issues). Jade is also known as DJ Relentless out of drag. Jade has DJ-ed and held a residency at the legendary STONEWALL in NYC as well as a long list of clubs like The Limelight (NYC), The Palladium (NYC), The Hangar (NYC), Escuelita (NYC), Crews & Tangos (Toronto), Zipperz (Toronto), Remix Lounge (Toronto) and currently Boutique Bar (Toronto). Both personas have worked really hard to bring awareness to people who live with being HIV+ as well as standing up for the LGBT Community and their rights.
